Scott and I just finished putting up our outside Christmas lights... so let the holidays begin! Our tree and inside decorations are also up, and our home is festive and ready for family and friends to help us celebrate the birth of Baby Jesus. My sister and her family arrive from Wisconsin on December 21st. We can't wait!
One of my favorite things to do during the holidays is watch the Kennedy Center Honors. I have my 7th graders write a report on this fabulous cultural event that honors entertainers for their lifetime contributions to American culture. The KCH is pre-recorded and airs December 26th this year on CBS. This year's recipients are: singer and actress Cher, composer and Pianist Philip Glass, Country music entertainer Reba McEntire, jazz saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter, and a unique KCH Award to the creators of HAMILTON. Check out my Teachers Pay Teachers store if you know someone who would also like to assign this to their students. Here it is: Kennedy Center Honors 2018
